Trusted Allies of Local Government

Hello,

Tripepi Smith has long been a supporter of local government associations. Indeed, one of the phrases we hear most often out on the conference circuit is, “You guys are everywhere!” And while I won’t deny that it’s a marketing strategy for our firm, there’s much more to it than just that.

We strive to be an institution of local government. We want to be the most trusted and reliable firm in the industry. When you think of the firms who consistently, time after time, partner with and lend support to local governments, we want you to think of TS. In order to do that, we must not only produce outstanding work, but also show up for the local government community — the conferences, association meetings and other key gathering points.

As we kick off “conference season,” you will see our team out and about. TS supports multiple associations, including: CCMF, California Contract Cities Association, MMANC, MMASC, CAPIO, CMRTA, OCCMA, SGVCMA, CalCities, ILG, CalCCA and CSDA. And that is JUST in California. We speak on panels, offer training sessions and sponsor WiFi at many of these events. But more importantly, we make sure we have a seasoned team of communicators there ready to speak with you about your agency’s challenges, and who understand local governments and their needs. When you pull someone from TS aside at a conference, you are talking to someone who knows the difference between a city manager and a mayor, who has sat in or listened in on a special district board meeting and someone who has tackled a contentious policy issue that required cool heads and consistent messaging to navigate an uproar.

I will be at a number of these conferences — spending only seven nights in my own home in October. The rest of those nights I will be earning some serious travel loyalty points and happily engaging with all of you. And I’ll have my team alongside me, as well.

Our team gives our time, money and insights back to local government to demonstrate our deep commitment to all that it takes for local government to succeed in California (despite Sacramento's best efforts to make life harder). I hope to see you soon at a conference.

Safe Travels,

Translation Best Practices for Local Government Agencies

Clear, accurate translations are essential to reach California’s diverse communities. While automated tools can be useful, they often miss nuance and cultural context. Partnering with a trusted human translation vendor, building a style guide and avoiding common mistakes ensures your message is consistent, culturally appropriate and impactful.
