What If You Already Have the Space You Need?

The homeowners loved their Shorewood home, but knew there was more hiding within its existing footprint. Our design transformed the way the home works, creating room for a walk-in pantry, custom cabinetry, tucked-in storage, a built-in banquette and beautifully planned work zones.

Partnering with Marceau Interiors for the interior design, white oak cabinetry, warm brass, statement lighting and carefully considered details give the home a fresh sophistication while keeping it inviting and livable. It’s proof that sometimes the best transformation comes from designing the space you already have exceptionally well.

Fifty years ago, Pete and Sue Jacobson started Lake Country Builders with a love for building, a commitment to doing things the right way and probably no idea just how far it would all go.

Five decades, countless homes and a whole lot of stories later, Lake Country Builders is celebrating 50 years! While ownership has passed to the next generation, the heart of the company hasn’t changed. The same name. The same commitment to craftsmanship. The same belief that relationships matter just as much as the homes we build.

Our 50th Anniversary Film takes a look back at where it all began, shares stories from Pete and Sue, and celebrates the people who are carrying LCB forward today. There’s history, a little nostalgia and plenty to be proud of.

Hit play and come celebrate 50 years of Lake Country Builders with us.

You don’t really know what 50 years looks like until you fill a room with it.

This July, we did exactly that.

We gathered at Pique Travel Event Center in Excelsior with people from every chapter of Lake Country Builders. Pete, Sue, Patrick and team members from then and now. Clients, trade partners, family and friends who have all left their mark on LCB along the way.

And wow, was it something.

Here’s a look back at one heck of a celebration.

The room was full of reunions, big hugs, old stories, lots of laughter and a few moments that made us stop and take it all in.

Because 50 years isn’t really about a number. It’s the projects, challenges, celebrations and relationships that have shaped a company started by Pete and Sue in 1976 and carried it forward to where we are today.

That night, we got to see all of it in one room.

Old buildings have stories to tell. The best remodels make sure they don’t get lost.

We’re thrilled to reveal this incredible transformation right here in Excelsior, where historic charm was preserved, original character was celebrated and the entire property was given a completely new purpose.

What was once a single historic space has been thoughtfully transformed into a lower-level rental and an upper-level Airbnb, with careful attention paid to making the building work beautifully for today without erasing the details that give it its soul.

And getting to do this kind of work in Excelsior, a community we love being part of, makes this one even more special.

Set along the shoreline of Bear Lake, Wisconsin, Winter’s Keep is becoming something truly extraordinary.

Expansive in scale and striking in its architecture, this luxury lake home is designed to make the most of its remarkable setting. Soaring forms, dramatic rooflines, walls of glass and sweeping views to the water are coming together with an incredible level of craftsmanship and detail.

A recent site visit gave us a chance to take it all in while the structure is still exposed, when you can see not only the beauty of the design, but the complexity and precision behind building a home of this caliber.

There is so much more to come, and we can already tell this one is going to be spectacular.

Join us on our latest site visit for a closer look at the remarkable progress at Winter’s Keep.

If there’s one thing we’ve learned in 50 years, it’s that great work starts with great people.

Our annual Partner Appreciation Golf Tournament is one of our favorite days of the year, and this one had a little extra reason to celebrate. We traded jobsites for tee boxes and spent the day with the trade partners and industry friends who have helped us build, problem-solve, create and deliver some pretty incredible projects over the years.

There were birdies. There were bogeys. There were shots we probably shouldn’t talk about. And there was a whole lot of fun.

But underneath it all was something we don’t take lightly. The people on that course are a big part of Lake Country Builders, and reaching 50 years is a milestone we’re proud to celebrate with them.

Good people. Great partnerships. One heck of a day on the course. Take a look.
