The Streator Chamber of Commerce recognized

Starved Rock Country Community Foundation as its

September 2026 Member of the Month.

Congratulations to Starved Rock Country Community Foundation, our September Member of the Month.

In the aftermath of the June tornado in Streator, a number of organizations played a critical role in recovery and the Foundation was one of them. A Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund was established with the Foundation by the city of Streator to accept monetary donations to assist with the long-term needs of individuals and families affected by the tornado. The Foundation had the structure in place to accept and distribute these funds responsibly.

The Foundation also has awarded grants recently to Engle Lane Theatre and Illinois Valley Brain Injury Clubhouse, as well as holding the fund for Logan's Oasis Organization (the new playground at Marilla Park). The Foundation, which serves La Salle, Bureau, Putnam and Livingston counties, is nearing the $10 million mark, despite being the youngest foundation in the state. The mission of the foundation is to connect the people in the region with the causes that matter to them.

If you would like more information about the Foundation, go to https://srccf.org/ email info@srccf.org or call 815-252-2906. Informational "report to our community" booklets also are available at the Chamber office, 320 E. Main St.
