From the Director

The world brings very special people into our lives, people who make a lasting difference. Longtime, dedicated volunteer Debbie Lavertu was one of those people. She passed away on August 22, leaving an empty place in our hearts and in the library.

Over the years, Debbie gave so much of herself to us. She donated holly for our Holiday Tea, hung lights for Music After Hours, worked on our April online auction, organized the jewelry sale at our Holiday Fair, and, of course, was the driving force behind our jewelry sale at the annual book sales. Your donations were beautifully displayed because of her care and hard work.

These are only a few examples of all Debbie did for the library. Her true legacy, however, is the time she so generously gave, her enormous heart, and the love and kindness she shared with all of us. She will be dearly missed.

A few of upcoming programs:

Be sure to check our Save the Date section and pencil in Wicked Strange with Jeff Belanger, who will share just how unusual and spooky New England can be.

We’re also looking forward to Pets Unlonely: A Celebration of Life, a thoughtful program about transforming grief into fond memories through art and human connection.

With love & grace,

Lesley - Library Director
