September 2026 Newsletter

Our classrooms are alive with the sound of children! We are so happy to see old friends and make new ones! We will begin weekly chapel services next week! You are welcome to join us 9:20 am - 9:40 am in the chapel.

As we enter the school year, it is important that everyone is aware of school procedures. If you have not done so already, please watch the Orientation Video and download the Parent Handbook. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.  Immunization records and medical forms are also required by the first day of school.

Have you recently moved? Do you have a new phone number? Please make sure we have your current contact information. Email all updates to fmsoffice@fumcd.com. Please also remember to update your contact information in Brightwheel as well. Thank you!

In order for us to have school safely, anyone with symptoms of any illness must remain at home. Please monitor your child's health and the persons in your student's household to ensure that measles, strep, RSV, flu, COVID, and other illnesses are not introduced into our buildings. Vaccines are free or low cost through the Dallas County Health Dept. and are the most effective way to prevent the spread of illness. Please take advantage of available resources and follow the guidance of the local health departments and the CDC to ensure the health and safety of your family and our school.

Thank you for labeling and sending the following items to school daily:

Full sized backpack

Empty Spill proof cup

Complete change of clothes including underwear and socks

Diapers (1 year olds), Pullups with velcro sides (2-3 year olds)

Folder from your teacher

Lunch

Check your app or your email for your September billing statement that was sent on 9/1/26. Late fees will be applied beginning 9/13/26.  ACH, debit, and credit card payments must be made through Brightwheel. Autodraft payments may be set up through Brightwheel as well. Cash, check, and money order payments must be made in the FUMCD church office on Main Street Mon.-Thu., 8:30a-4:30p. After business hours, payments may be placed in the drop box on the south side of the building.

The Brightwheel app is required to check your child in and out daily. Make sure to download the app to your mobile device before the first day of school.  

Also, use Brightwheel to keep in touch with your child's teacher and view pictures/videos of classroom activities!

**BRIGHTWHEEL APP UPDATE!*** Brightwheel recently published an update to its app effective 9/1 to include a photograph of anyone dropping off and picking up a child. Please make sure you have the latest version of the Brightwheel app on your devices.
