Dear Scholars, Staff, Families, and Community,

WOW. It is already September, and our scholars, staff, and YOU, our families, are off to a great start. It has been a successful first few weeks back, and I am SO excited about the remainder of this school year!!

📊 This month, you can expect homework, progress reports, and assessment letters to come home. We took several screeners last month to see where our scholars are academically so that teachers know how to support them best.

📚 I am excited to announce that....

Congratulations Scholars & CREW of the Month!

PARENT ANNOUNCEMENTS & REMINDERS

Code_Red_Low_Attendance_p1.png

Regular school attendance is crucial for students' academic and social success. RSPA strives for a 98% daily attendance rate.

Let’s help students build a habit of good attendance early & often.

Your Presence Matters!

Did you know that missing 10% or more of school (about 2 days or 6 tardies a month) negatively impacts reading skills by third grade, middle school performance, and graduation chances?

Additionally, missing school hinders the development of social skills, problem-solving, and self-regulation, which are vital for personal growth and success.

Arrivals & Dismissal:

ARRIVALS:

  • Student drop-off is at the front of Building B.
  • Morning drop-off time begins at 7:30 AM when the school doors open.
  • If parents need to drop their child off earlier than 7:30 AM, the child will be placed in Crayon Club and assessed a $30.00 fee.
  • Hugs and kisses are encouraged at the front door, not in the building.
  • Classes begin at 7:55 AM.
  • At 8:05 AM, all doors will be locked, and parents must walk students into the front office to sign in. Students are considered tardy at 8:05 AM.

DISMISSAL:

  • Classes end at 3:30 PM.
  • Early pick-up ends at 2:15 PM. No student will be released between 2:15 and 3:25 PM.
  • Car Tags will be issued to each car-rider student. Please display it upon pick-up.
  • If parents need to pick their child up later than 4:00 PM, the child will be placed in Crayon Club and assessed a $30.00 fee if not enrolled in the 21st Century After-School Program.
  • Please ensure the school is aware of any changes to your scholar’s usual dismissal routine by 2:15 PM. Contact your scholar's teacher or call the front office if needed. Parents of bus riders must notify the Transportation Dept. in the Cariina App. Safety is our top priority, and we must know how your child will get home.
