Five Borough Veterans (FBV) is a dynamic and growing Veteran owned and operated non profit which has become a major partner for the SMVF Taskforce in the past year. FBV is bringing together the military and civilian populations, a mission very much aligned with the SMVF Taskforce. Some events of many events hosted by FBV or in collaboration with the SMVF Taskforce are:
· The First Annual Veterans Polar Bear Plunge Party at Coney Island on 1/1/26.
· The 2026 Candidate Roundtable Initiative which interviewed and evaluated all NYC Congressional candidates on their understanding and support of Veteran issues. Rating of the all the candidates was distributed.
· A second round of the Roundtable 2026 Candidate Roundtable Initiative between 9/28/26 and 10/9/26.
· On July 4th , in collaboration with Bryant Park, a program unfurling a giant, lawn-sized American flag as part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration and the incredible resilience of New Yorkers.
We expect that there will be many more activities and initiatives to be announced in the future with the two most recent described in the attached flyers.
