WAVE Wraps Up at PNCWA

Environmental Analyst Emily Bradley, who works on behalf of the MWMC, recently celebrated the completion of her year with the Pacific Northwest Clean Water Association (PNCWA)'s WAVE program.

Throughout the year, Emily joined 14 young professionals and students to dive deep into the world of the water industry, then present their research at the annual PNCWA conference in Spokane. Emily and her team's presentation titled Raising Awareness and Promoting the Water Industry reported trends and recommendations for water professionals looking to cultivate talent and attract, train, and retain the next generation.

Congrats, Emily!

Join our Team! Open Wastewater Positions

The City of Eugene has two open positions at the Regional Wastewater Treatment Facility, housed in the Public Works Department.

Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic I/II: The Wastewater Maintenance Mechanic performs journey-level equipment maintenance with minimal instruction and supervision; responsible for a variety of mechanical duties in a large complex activated sludge wastewater treatment plant and related off- site facilities. This position will require areas of specialization such as welding and fabrication, pump repair, industrial engine maintenance, or other specialized skills as listed in job posting. Apply here!

Wastewater Operator I/II: The Wastewater Operator position performs duties in all phases of resource recovery at a complex activated sludge treatment facility. The successful candidate is expected to assume the Operator role with minimal instruction and supervision. This position will be a swing shift position. Lead role responsibilities may be assigned as needed. Apply here!

Wipes Clog Pipes

Wipes can often be marketed as "flushable", but your pipes say otherwise! Wipes are not designed to break down in the way that toilet paper does, and they are still intact when they make it to the treatment plant.

Protect your pipes and avoid costly backups by discarding wipes (and any other hygiene product that isn't toilet paper) where they belong – in the trash!
