Good afternoon St. Stephen Families,
Thank you everyone for doing such a great job with our first SVDP food collection (see their letter below). Your generosity truly makes a difference in someone's life.
Thank you Mrs. Dieringer for training to be a Bricks for Kids teacher and leading our afterschool activity. Thank you Mrs. Gurley for finding opportunities for our students. It is very exciting for us to be able to offer a wide variety of after school activities this year.
Parents, please take a moment and review the school handbook for uniform requirements. The biggest offenders I am seeing are: length of PE shorts (no more than 2 inches above the knee), shoes must be all black (including the soles), hair accessories should be simple and match the school uniform, and jewelry. Students may wear a watch (no smart watches), a cross/crucifix or religious medal on a simple metal or rope/cord chain necklace or bracelet, and a House band (middle school only) or other school issued wristbands. Girls may wear ONE set of POST earrings in their earlobe (no hoops). Continued violations will prevent the student from participating in the next jean day.
Please read all of Tidbits to be informed about all the exciting events coming up and hoping to see many of you this evening for the Family Event at the Book Fair. Please join us for Mass tomorrow as we celebrate Grandparents and Grandfriends!
Peace,
Linda Umoh

Letter from The Society of SVdP
We can't thank you enough! 1,197lbs of food collected! That is a huge amount of food that will help serve the over 150 families that come each month for food alone. The need continues to grow as times continue to be tough for everyone. We are able to serve those who are struggling in our community and are not sure where to turn to for help - we are here! And we are able to continue to do our work because of the support of the school and the families!
Thank you again! We appreciate you! - The Society of SVdP, St. Stephen's Conference

Own The Avenue is a year-round fundraiser for the PTCO and gives you a great way to give your child a shout out for the school community to see! Birthdays, achievements, any positive vibes and kudos are welcome, and they certainly make your student feel special!
The sign is located on the corner of our school parking lot and will be viewed and celebrated for the entire week. A PTCO member will be responsible for putting up the sign, and after the week is done the sign will be sent home with your student for you to keep or to reuse for another week in the future!
| |
|
How it works:
If you have an existing sign, the cost is $30 for the week. If we need to order a new sign, the cost is $50 for the week. Please make payments through the school's front office. To sign up, please use the link below and more details will follow. Please note, new signs take up to 2 weeks to process and receive from our vendor. If you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Maria Ayala at own.the.avenue.sscs@gmail.com Thank you in advance for your support!
IMPORTANT: Please note, this is a yearly fundraiser that is on a first come, first served basis (via
SignUpGenius). For example, if you purchase a sign this year for a specific week 9-4-22 thru 9-10-22, that same week is not guaranteed to you for future years. It is required that you sign up each school year if you wish to participate.
