MORAN WATCHTOWER CLOSED FOR REPAIRS
The Mount Constitution tower is closed for guardrail repairs September 21 - October 3. Updates are available on parks.wa.gov.

THE ORCAS CENTER EXTENDS THE CAKE TO SATURDAY
Additional Show of The Cake added - Running this week: September 21 - 24, The Cake is written by Bekah Brustetter and directed by Melinda Milligan. Della the baker makes cakes and when the young woman she helped raise comes back home to North Carolina with a fiancee, Della’s life gets turned upside down. She can’t really make a cake for such a wedding, can she? For the first time in her life, Della has to think for herself. Tickets available at orcascenter.org.

IRA ECHO PERFORMS @ THE BARNACLE
Thursday, Sept. 22 at 7 pm
Currently based in New Orleans, Ira Echo is a musician, movement artist mostly known for their performances with jazz ensembles on violin. Ira currently performs in duos with New Orleans’s bass player, Martin Masakowski, and Argentinian guitarist Salvador Avila and as a solo artist utilizing percussion, looping, and found sounds. No cover. Read more about Ira’s impressive performance history and listen in at www.iraecho.com

GOING BEYOND SIMULCAST AT OICC
OICC presents the Going Beyond Simulcast with Priscilla Shirer on Saturday, September 24. This is an event that brings women together for a day of powerful teaching and worship. The event begins at OICC from 9 am - 3 pm including lunch and multiple breaks. THE FALL GREAT ISLANDS CLEAN-UP 2022
Saturday, September 24 from 10 - 2 on all Islands!
Orcas volunteers can pick-up grabbers, gloves, bags, and safety vests starting Monday, September 19 at The Exchange or at The Village Green the morning of the event. This year we are proud to present 8 documentary films and 28 feature films from 25 countries. Legendary actress Jacqueline Bisset will headline the film festival to present her most recent film LOREN + ROSE with director Russell Brown. Guests will attend from Bad Axe, Sam Now, Wildcat and other films.

ORCAS DANCE COLLECTIVE FALL CLASS SERIES BEGINS
(September 12 - December 3 at Orcas Center and Oddfellows Hall)

ORCAS YOUTH CHORUS
Calling Grades 6 - 12 students from all schools and homes to sing together in a Youth Chorus this Fall. Directors Andy Rivera and Monica Steele will lead this fun foray into choral singing, on Sundays from 4 - 5 pm, in the Music/Multipurpose Room at the Orcas Island Public School. SJC MASTER GARDENERS ANNUAL GARDENING WORKSHOP
Eight presentations: October 17, 20, 24, & 27 at 12 pm.
The Master Gardeners of San Juan County welcome Dr. Linda Gilkeson as the keynote speaker at our Annual Gardening Workshop Series. Dr. Gilkeson’s talk, “Resilient Gardens In a Changing Climate,” will discuss how greater resiliency in our gardening methods can help minimize the effects of local climate change. We're super excited to finally be having our races on Orcas! We haven't had races there since right before COVID shut everything down in early 2020! 
We're currently seeking a few more awesome folks to volunteer at these races. And we could really use your help! We have a variety of roles and timeframes and dates to choose from. ORCAS WELCOMES NEW PEDIATRICIAN
Island Primary Care - Orcas welcomes pediatrician, Evan Buxbaum, MD, MPH
Evan Buxbaum, MD, MPH returns to Orcas Island to join Island Primary Care - Orcas after practicing for the past decade in California. Buxbaum received a Doctor of Medicine degree from Duke University and a Master of Public Health degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Buxbaum completed his pediatric internship and residency at Vermont Children’s Hospital. Learn more here.
