SNOW CONE SUNDAY

Thank you for your support! The kids love snow cone Sunday and we are so grateful for the support we have received. Snow cone Sunday is a great learning experience for our kids to experience the differences they can make internationally through their words, works, and efforts.

This Sunday Sunday, September 28, will be our last Snow Cone Sunday fundraiser of the year to support Product Hope in building wells in Africa.

Together, we’re working toward funding our 17th well—and every scoop brings us closer! Come grab a sweet treat and make an impact.

CHURCH & SOCIETY HOUSE MEETING

Join us this Sunday at 11:30 in the Fellowship Hall for an opportunity to discuss issues that are currently challenging in the world. These conversations are intended to find a basis for action to problems. They include people directly affected by the issue, and to collect personal stories that will motivate others.

MONTHLY TAIZÉ SERVICE

You're warmly invited to our next monthly Taizé Service this Sunday, September 28, at 4:00 p.m.

Step into a space of peace and stillness, where soft candlelight, simple chants, scripture, and silence create a gentle, reflective atmosphere. Rooted in the tradition of the Taizé Community in France, this contemplative service offers a chance to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with the presence of the Divine.

Taizé services are designed to be inclusive, peaceful, and spiritually nourishing, making them especially meaningful for anyone seeking quiet renewal in the midst of life’s busyness.

All are welcome—come as you are, and find rest for your soul.

FIRST AID/CPR/AED TRAINING

Be ready when it matters most! Join us for First Aid, CPR, and AED Training on Saturday, October 4, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. In just three hours, you’ll gain the confidence and lifesaving skills to respond in an emergency—whether at home, work, school, or in the community. The cost is only $25, and your training could one day make all the difference. Sign up today and be prepared to save a life! Email Kris by September 28 to register.

UNITED METHODIST MEN

Dayspring's United Methodist Men meet next Saturday, October 4, at 8:00 a.m. in the Palo Verde Room. All are welcome, men and women, and meetings are filled with fellowship, music, information and lively discussions. This month, Robert Smith will discuss Dayspring’s partnership with Borderlands Produce Rescue to collect otherwise discarded veggies from distributors and to make them available to help curb food waste.

DAYSPRING COLUMBARIUM

The Dayspring Columbarium Ministry is exploring the establishment of a columbarium on our Tempe campus—a sacred space to house the cremated remains of loved ones within the care of the church. Rooted in Christian tradition, a columbarium provides peace of mind for individuals, comfort for families, and a visible reminder of our hope in the resurrection.

Construction will be self-funded through prepaid reservations, with future proceeds supporting Dayspring’s mission ministries. Informational meetings will be held:

Oct 5 & 12 at 11:15 am – Dayspring Tempe

Oct 7 at 2:00 pm – Friendship Village

Each niche (for one or two sets of cremains) is $3,000. Please email Rick Potts with questions.

CHILDREN'S MINISTRY UPDATE

Volunteers Needed for Sunday School

We’re looking for two assistant volunteers for Sunday School this Sunday, September 28 from 10:00–11:00am. Assistants support the Sunday School teachers and help the class run smoothly.

What assistants do:

  • Welcome kids and help with check-in
  • Assist during lessons, supplies, and crafts
  • Encourage participation in activities
  • Quick tidy-up at the end

If you can help, please contact Jessica Nuñez-LaMarre at 480-773-4176 or jessica@dayspring-umc.org.

We are especially grateful for the continued volunteer work of Faith Wagner, Anne Knuess, and Kelly Burmeister. The children of Dayspring are blessed to have these wonderful women’s wisdom shared on Sundays!

Join us for BeTween!

Our BeTween time is focused on learning, fun, and service. Through games, lessons, and service projects, kids learn how to live out their faith in ways that make a real difference in the community and the world.

We’d love for your 4th-6th grader to join us each Wednesday from 6:45–7:30pm. Please note, there is no between on Wednesday October 1.
