Our Moonshot Community Action Network (MCAN) is a professional learning community working collaboratively in support of our Moonshot Moment goal - to ensure that children are ready for kindergarten and that 90% of our children are reading proficiently by the end of third grade! Our framing question is: "What does it take for IRC's community leaders to operate as a high-performing team such that we lead the way, are stronger together, inspired and unstoppable in taking a stand for children and thereby fueling our community's economic vitality?"

September is Attendance Awareness Month! Recap of the August, 2019 Meeting:

On August, 2019, we met at Dasie Hope to reconvene after the July break. We celebrated receiving another national Pacesetter Award from the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, in which we were honored for our MCAN work. After new members were introduced and updates were shared in the Huddle, we broke out into our five bold idea teams to work on our short- and long-term goals to move our work forward.

During the August MCAN meeting, we celebrated our national Pacesetter recognition with an orange juice toast to the great work of our Moonshot Community. We are #MoonshotProud! Special thanks to MCAN Members Raquel and Kim Wright, and Carol Pinder of Dasie Hope Center for hosting the August meeting!
