Child Advocates of Contra Costa are Looking for Volunteers!

Every child in foster care and the juvenile justice system deserves to be seen, heard, and valued. CASA is looking for volunteers to be their voice and help them thrive.

Child Advocates of Contra Costa County is dedicated to providing programs and support for abused and neglected children in foster care to help every child find a permanent home and complete their education. Out of the 786 children in our county involved in either the foster care or juvenile justice system, just 208 of them have support from a CASA volunteer.

With a potentially significant El Niño season ahead, California Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara is encouraging residents to review their insurance coverage before severe weather arrives. Most standard homeowners and renters policies do not cover flooding, and flood insurance generally has a 30-day waiting period before coverage takes effect.

Residents are also encouraged to review auto coverage, create a home inventory, clear gutters and drains, secure outdoor items, and make sure emergency supplies and important documents are ready.
