Contra Costa County Receives State Approval for the Delta Recovery Center
Contra Costa County has received State approval to locate the Delta Recovery Center in Antioch, a new treatment facility that will expand access to critical behavioral health services.
This new facility is part of a $98 million grant that the County previously was awarded and comes from California’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program, a multi-year state initiative to improve behavioral healthcare infrastructure paid through Proposition 1.
The Delta project is one of three projects that were awarded funding in Contra Costa County. The other facilities include a 16-bed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center in Pittsburg to provide intensive treatment and support for adults living with serious mental illness; and a 16-bed Transitional Residential Social Rehabilitation/Adult Residential Treatment Facility in Pleasant Hill to offer structured, short-term housing and recovery-focused care.
Together, these three centers will address a significant need for behavioral treatment beds in Contra Costa County, particularly in East County, where residents currently face long waits and travel long distances for care.
