Week of September 26th 2026 | | |
Greetings!
Networking isn’t just about the people you meet, it’s about the person you become along the way. Every conversation, connection, and experience gives you an opportunity to learn, grow, and become a better communicator and leader. While building your network is important, investing in yourself is just as important. This week, take one simple step toward personal growth: read one book on communication or leadership.
Your Practical Reading Action Plan
Don’t make this complicated, start small:
1. Pick ONE book. Choose a book about communication, leadership, relationships, or personal growth.
2. Read 10 pages a day. Set aside 15–20 minutes, preferably at the same time each day.
3. Take ONE idea from each reading session. Write down the lesson that stood out to you.
4. Put it into practice. Ask yourself, “How can I use this idea in my business or networking this week?”
5. Share what you learn. Bring one idea from the book into a conversation with someone in your network.
The goal isn’t simply to finish a book, it’s to become better because you read it. Remember, great networkers don’t just build relationships; they continually build themselves. Show Up. Speak Up. Follow Up. Grow Up!

| | McGill Hose Ribbon Cutting | | Celebrating McGill Hose’s Grand Opening! Uncle Jay was excited to be part of the Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening celebration for McGill Hose, located at 222 Metro Center Boulevard on September 24th. It was a great opportunity to welcome this business to the community, meet the team, Owner Alex McGill, Jeremiah, Andrew, Josh, and learning more about what they bring to the local business landscape. McGill Hose is also making a connection with the racing community by sponsoring the race car driven by Connor Christmas—a great example of how local businesses can support both their customers and the communities they serve. Congratulations to McGill Hose on their new location and continued growth! | | NETWORKING Quote of the WEEK | | |

| | | A business card can tell you someone’s name, company, title, and contact information—but it can’t tell you the whole story. The person behind the card matters most. Don’t make assumptions based on a job title, company size, or how someone’s card looks. Take the time to have a conversation, ask questions, and discover what they do, who they serve, and what opportunities may exist to help one another. Some of the most valuable connections can come from people you never expected to meet. Networking Action Challenge: At your next networking event, talk to someone you might normally overlook and learn something you didn’t know about them. | | |

My mother Barbara L. White, a radiant soul who graced
the world for 91 beautiful years is now in heaven. She
was not just my mother but my guiding light, illuminating my path with her unwavering love and wisdom.
My mother had an extraordinary ability to nurture and
inspire those around her, always ready with words of
encouragement and a warm embrace.
As I navigate life without her, I carry her spirit in my heart,
Cherishing the lessons she imparted and the love she so
freely gave. She will forever be remembered as a beacon
of light, guiding me through both the darkest nights and
the brightest days.
