Female Ranger Finishes First
in Army 10-Miler
Army Capt. Shaye Haver of Copperas Cove, Texas, won first place among women at the Army Ten-Miler event at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan on Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, with a time of 1 hour, 17 minutes. This event is a shadow run of the US Army 10-Miler taking place in Washington D.C. on October 13th.

Capt. Haver was a 2018 Inductee to the US Army Women's Hall of Fame. From all of us at the Army Women's Foundation, we congratulate her on this achievement!

We are deeply saddened by the death of Cokie Roberts at the age of 75. She was an extraordinary woman, a renowned ABC News journalist, and political commentator. She was a long time advocate of women in the military. It was her mother, Representative Lindy Boggs, who advocated for the Hello Girls, the first women soldiers of WWI, to be recognized for their military service and to receive veterans benefits. We are thankful for her contribution and participation with the Army Women’s Foundation.
Have you heard of Women of the Military Podcast? It's a place to share the stories of women who have served in the military and those who are currently. The podcast tackles issues that real women face while serving in the military. The highs the lows. What led us to military service and what we are doing today. Be encouraged and inspired by the stories of these amazing women!
The stories of the 1,500 women who served during the Spanish-American war are largely unknown. Iron Mountain and the Women in Military Service for America Memorial are working to change that.
A group of women veterans from Philadelphia made history in September as they became the first all-woman, all-wars Honor Flight from Pennsylvania to visit Washington, D.C.
The Colleton Museum in South Carolina needs your help. They are looking for the untold story of the roles females have played in the military in times of war after realizing their story has been left out of the museum. Those willing to share their stories and their artifacts can stop by the museum during normal business hours or call (843)-549-2303 ext. 1185. Learn more .

Starting October 31st, service members will be able to request free credit monitoring services from the nationwide credit reporting agencies – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
These services can help you keep on top of your finances by warning you about new activity on your credit reports. With early detection, you can then take steps to nip fraud and other problems in the bud.
