FROM PASTOR SARAH
Reflections for Sunday , September 29

At the end of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, General Leia Organa and Rey survey the vast destruction that the First Order has wrought on the tiny Resistance forces. Rey says to General Organa,  "How do we build a rebellion from this?" Leia answers calmly and wisely, "We have everything we need."

Now, I'm not one to say that Star Wars has much to do with the Gospel, though I am a big fan of the films and I think they speak a lot of truth. But Leia spoke words of gospel-truth in those last minutes: "We have everything we need."

Read the lessons for Sunday. God is clearly sending us a message - we have everything we need. We don't have to ask for more, or cry over what we don't have. We have Jesus, we have grace, we have God's unconditional love. We have everything we need.

+ What is holding you back from being content with God, "who generously gives us everything for our enjoyment?" 1 Timothy 6:17
+ Pray for God to change your heart to trust that we have everything we need.

Family Devotion  Read:  Psalm 146:1-2

Bring it homeHere are some questions or activities to help you think and talk about the reading as a family.

+ Google "What does praise mean?" to find out what this word means.
+ How could you express praise?

Pray:  Consider lighting a candle or having a cross to look at while you pray. Have someone pray this prayer:

Dear God, we praise you and we love you.

SCRIP
Did you know the church makes money every time you purchase a gift card from Scrip?

To date, we have raised just shy of $3,000 on approximately 30 orders with very few families participating. Imagine what we could earn with more families participating.

Stop at the Welcome Center and find out more.

Gas purchases are an easy way to get started with Scrip cards. Look at how much money can be raised with very little effort.
