MOASC is pleased to announce that we have partnered with patient payments firm, PayGround to deliver an end to end patient collections platform for MOASC members. With their modern patient-first approach, MOASC predicts that members will increase their patient collections by 12%, decrease their overall days to collect by 4 days, all while saving 26% in processing fees. With this partnership, MOASC members not only get access to PayGround’s aggregated payment platform, but we negotiated that PayGround waive all processing fees for the first 90 days for members. MOASC plans to launch the partnership beginning in October followed by a November webinar to educate members on the benefits of using PayGround’s payment platform.

In keeping with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s (ACS CAN) mission to ensure all Americans have access to cancer care from prevention through treatment, ACS CAN is undertaking an effort to better understand provider- and practice-level factors that may represent barriers to oncology providers utilizing appropriate biomarker testing across cancer types. This brief online survey will take no more than ten minutes of your time and is being conducted anonymously, so your responses will be used only in aggregate and cannot be attributed to you. There is no need to prepare in advance for the survey questions; only your opinion is sought. The survey will cover current use and practices regarding biomarker testing across cancer types, and seek to understand any challenges that may arise. The goal of this research is to support new opportunities to improve patient access to biomarker testing.
To thank you for your time, the first 300 qualified respondents will receive an Amazon gift card of $75 if you choose to share your contact information (to be used solely for the purpose of distributing the gift card). Please feel free to contact (Sarah.Long@cancer.org) if you have any questions. Thank you.

COA News
COA President, Kashyap Patel, MD, & COA Exec. Dir., Ted Okon, had a great live meeting last week on Capitol Hill with several Republican members that are on the House Oversight & Reform Committee, including the ranking member. They discussed PBM abuses from A to Z, heavily focused on DIR fees. They handed out a real CVS DIR practice report and defied anyone to figure it out. COA has a plan, and the legislators’ commitment, to force a hearing on PBM abuses, with a focus on DIR fees. Realistically, given logistics and the current infighting on infrastructure, the timing of such hearings are looking at 3 months or so to pull, with the ranking member Rep. Comer needing to work through the Democrat chair. All-in-all it was a very good, and productive meeting.

Incyte announces FDA approval of Jakafi® (ruxolitinib) for treatment of chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) after failure of one or two lines of systemic therapy in adult and pediatric patients 12 years and older. The FDA approval was based on the REACH3 study, a Phase 3, randomized, open-label, multicenter study of Jakafi in comparison to best available therapy (BAT) for treatment of steroid-refractory chronic GVHD after allogeneic stem cell transplantation. The primary endpoint of overall response rate (ORR) at Week 24 (i.e., Cycle 7 Day 1) was 49.7% for Jakafi compared to 25.6% for BAT (P<0.0001).
