Where is God at work and how can we join Him? We have over 80 adults currently going through the Experiencing God study. If you would like to join us, contact the church office . We will continue to build unity in the Body of Christ by bringing together churches for prayer, testimony and worship. We will gather on Sunday night, November 25 - more details to come.

Children's Ministry News
New Sunday School time and location for Children (preschool-grade 5) - -We have moved our Sunday School time to 9:30-10:15 a.m. in order to partner with City on a Hill. We are located in the newly renovated CDC hallway on the second floor now. Following Sunday School, the children participate in music activities with hand chimes until 10:45 a.m.
We are also moving toward a more safe and secure area for our children and will begin this Sunday with a check-in procedure on the second floor. ALL Sunday morning children's activities will be located on the second floor. 
Children's Choir meets each Wednesday evening, 5:45-6:30 p.m., on the third floor in the choir room. Please consider joining us for this FUN activity!
Is your child struggling with a certain subject in school or just frustrated with homework?  There is free tutoring and homework help provided by qualified teachers happening each Wednesday afternoon and evening on the third floor from 4:00-5:30 p.m. and 6:00-7:15 p.m. Stop by the Fellowship Hall for dinner from 5:15-6:00 p.m. beforehand if you want to have a light meal ($2/person).

2-Our "First Sunday Benevolent/Mission Offering" on October 7 will go to Hurricane relief efforts. 100% of these donations go to help people in need.
3-We are collecting Flood Buckets - to find out the specifics of what is needed click here. You can bring buckets to the church - please do so by October 21st.

Senior Adult News
Fall Bible Study continues on Mondays at 1:30 p.m. at The Culpeper. The study title is Graying in Grace. We are looking at our Christian roles as they change and we mature.
Art of Aging Expo, October 2 at Daniel Technology Center - Free and open to all! Seniors, Veterans, Caregivers, Families and Senior-Serving Professionals can come enjoy some fun and learn about what the community has to offer for Senior Adults. Contact Hans for more information about our ministry to Senior Adults. 
Senior Game Day October 17 Let’s play games, board games.  October 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Worship Center. Come join in as we enjoy some good fellowship and a little friendly competition in some of our favorite games.
Senior Outing October 18 Leaving the Church at 9:00 a.m. We will be going to Mrs. Rowe's for lunch; then we will go sight seeing and hopefully see some colorful fall foliage.
Homebound Senior Food Delivery October 19 Join us as we deliver food boxes to homebound Seniors in our community. We need drivers, carriers and talkers. Let’s make our community a more Senior friendly place together. Meet at the Church at 11:00 a.m.  Contact Hans for more information.
Youth Ministry Update
Converge (4 churches converging together to impact students) on Wednesday nights continues to draw more than 30 teens each week. We had a great Relay Night this past Wednesday!
Youth ALIVE happens every Wednesday at 5:00 p.m. Come join Alex for a time of fun and singing.
Sunday Bible study at 9:45 a.m. in Room 317. We join with the Experiencing God group at the beginning and then break out into our own group.

Story Ropes:  We're excited to announce that Story Ropes will be part of our pastoral ministry opportunities this year as we discover more about 'stories' and how we can meet God where He is at work. Gather folks from your dinner groups, work teams, places you volunteer, family... contact Sara today to set a date for your special event.
Memory Boxes:  Grief is a wave of emotion that comes and goes like the sea. During this season, we like to provide further pastoral support. A Memory Box workshop will be offered in October and November to make room for the special memories and often unspoken feelings we carry during the holidays. Join Sara and Amanda Sunday, October 21, 2-4 p.m. at the new Art & Spirit Barn Studio CBC helped create at Verdun Adventure Bound .
The Pickle Ball Tournament is coming October 20!
We are going to host our first Pickle Ball Tournament. Join in the fun as we gather to play or cheer. We will have a cook out for lunch. More details to follow. Contact Hans for more information. 
We are playing Pickle Ball on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday afternoons at 4:00 p.m. All ages are welcome.
Surviving the Holidays
The Surviving the Holidays seminar is especially designed for people who are grieving a loved one’s death. You’ll learn:
·         How to deal with the many emotions you’ll face during the holidays
·         What to do about traditions and other coming changes
·         Helpful tips for surviving social events
·         How to discover hope for your future
