Celebrating Ministry Across the Great River Region

There's a lot to celebrate in the Great River Region! Within our congregations, we have seen people answer God’s call and take new steps in ministry. These are moments for the whole Region to share in, with gratitude for the ways God continues to work among us.

We celebrate the recent ordination of Rev. Amy Blackman, youth director at First Christian Church in Fayetteville, AR, on September 13. We welcome Minister Erin Aylor, who was commissioned as the minister at First Christian Church in Russellville, AR, on September 20. We also celebrate Rev. Dr. Odette Woods’ first anniversary as pastor of Mt. Sinai Christian Church in North Little Rock, AR, on September 27.

There are many more whom God is calling to work in the kingdom. Whether it is as a deacon, minister, or even an usher, no position is too small in God's sight. What matters most is a willing heart. Will you answer the call?

Let us hold in prayer:

• We mourn the passing of Jennie Gregory, a beloved member of the Great River Region family. Jennie served for many years as Regional Board Moderator and led the search committee that called Rev. Dr. Nadine Burton as our Executive Regional Minister. We give thanks for her faithful leadership and the many gifts she shared with the Region. Please keep Jennie’s husband, David, and their family in your prayers as they grieve. Her service will be held this Saturday, Oct. 3^rd at 1:00 p.m. at Park Hill Christian Church in North Little Rock. (4400 JFK Boulevard, 72116) Click here to view the obituary.

• Please keep David Beach, husband of our Ministry Program Manager, Kristen Beach, in your prayers. David is experiencing AFib and awaiting test results to determine next steps. Pray for God’s peace for David and Kristen as they wait, and for David’s healing.
