Support the Life-Saving Work of Little Way

Baby Bottle Boomerang

During October, Respect Life Month, we are partnering with Little Way and asking you to take home a baby bottle to fill with donations to support their life-giving ministry.

For 38 years, Little Way Pregnancy Center has served mothers and fathers who are facing unexpected pregnancies. Your support allows them to offer their services free of charge including:

  • free pregnancy services, ultrasounds, education, and hope to over a thousand women annually
  • parenting education and baby supplies for families in need
  • a healing program to help lay down the burden of a past abortion
  • Abortion Pill Rescue for those who have a change of heart after taking the first abortion pill.

Little Way serves over 1300 expectant mothers annually. And thanks be to God, this year, Little Way helped more women than ever make a decision for life.

Please consider picking up a bottle in the back of church the weekend of October 7/8 to support this life-saving apostolate this weekend. Baby bottles can be returned the weekend of October 21/22.

Mass for Medical Professionals

With special gratitude to those who serve in the healthcare field, Archbishop Shelton Fabre invites healthcare workers to the annual Mass for Medical Professionals on Sunday, October 15, Noon at the Cathedral of the Assumption. This Mass is a Catholic liturgy, but a warm invitation is extended to persons of all faiths who serve in the healthcare field.

Invoking the blessing of St. Luke, the patron saint of physicians, this event gathers doctors, dentists, nurses, psychologists, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and all who work in healthcare to ask God’s blessing upon those who serve in this profession. Medical professionals are asked to wear their uniforms to the Mass.

Prayer Vigil for the Synod

In solidarity with prayer vigils to be held in Rome on September 30, Archbishop Shelton will preside at a local prayer service for the opening of the Synod of Bishops on Saturday, September 30 at Holy Spirit Parish (3345 Lexington Road, 40206). This prayer service will take place at approximately 6 pm, just after the 5 pm Mass at Holy Spirit. All are welcome.

Come, Holy Spirit, soul of the Church: unite and make fruitful the struggle, hope, and desire of all involved in the Synodal Assembly. Amen.
