The Cathedral of the Assumption is one of the official pilgrimage sites in our Archdiocese during the year of St. Joseph. Church is open daily for visitation.
Religious Education
Pre-Kindergarten - 12
Religious Education Classes, grades preK-8th and High School, will begin Sunday, September 12 after the 9:30 Mass in the Patterson Building. At the Cathedral of the Assumption we offer sacramental preparation in the 2nd grade for Reconciliation and 1st Communion and in the 8th grade for Confirmation.

Red Mass 2021
Please join the legal and judicial communities for the annual Red Mass, which invokes God’s blessing and guidance on all those in the legal community, including attorneys, judges, paralegals, and clerks. Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz will celebrate this Mass on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, 12:15 pm, at the Cathedral of the Assumption. Persons of all faiths who serve in the legal profession are invited to attend.
White Mass

in the Archdiocese of Louisville
With special gratitude for the heroic efforts of healthcare professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, Archbishop Kurtz and the St. Joseph Guild of the Catholic Medical Association invite medical professionals to the annual Mass for healthcare professionals (also known as the White Mass) on Sunday, October 3, 5:30 pm at the Cathedral of the Assumption. This Mass is a Catholic liturgy but a warm invitation is extended to persons of all faiths who serve in the healthcare field.

This year the procession will include a statue of San Pedro Calungsod as well as one of San Lorenzo, the first Filipino to be martyred for the Christian faith. This year also marks 500 years of Christianity in the Philippines. There is much to celebrate! Please plan to attend.

Give for Good 2021
Give for Good is Louisville's largest day of online giving for local non-profits. Hosted by The Community Foundation of Louisville, the 24 hours begin at 12:01am on Friday September 17, and close at 11:59pm. We encourage Cathedral members and friends to support their favorite non-profits that day, and to remember to visit the page of Central Louisville Community Ministries. The Cathedral was a founding member of CLCM over 50 years ago, and has been a strong partner all these years. CLCM provides emergency rent and utility assistance to low-income residents in our neighborhood. Scavenger Hunt
K of C Annual Motorcycle Ride for Wednesday’s Child

The Knights of Columbus 19th Annual Motorcycle Ride for Wednesday’s Child will be Sunday, September 12. (Rain date of September 19, 2021). Registration begins at noon. The ride will leave St. Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church (next to Fairdale High School), 903 Fairdale Rd., Fairdale, Ky. 40118 at 1 pm and ride to My Old Kentucky Home State Park in Bardstown, Kentucky with a return to St. Teresa of Calcutta for fun, food and games. The proceeds of this ride go to Wednesday's Child Inc. to purchase Christmas gifts for Wednesday's Children who have not yet found an adoptive home. The cost is $25.00 per rider and $10.00 per passenger. Donations also can be made to Knights of Columbus, P.O. Box 16122, Louisville, KY, 40258. Questions?  2021 Annual Walk for Life

Walk for Life New Location!
Right to Life of Louisville and Kentucky Right to Life are hosting their annual Walk for Life fundraiser at Bowman Field on Sunday, September 19th. Registration and rolling start begin at 1 pm; the Walk officially starts at 2 pm. Walkers raising $75 and families raising $125 get free comfort color t-shirts commemorating the Walk (max 6 shirts per family). Additional t-shirts available for sale. New this year: Music, Comfy Cow ice cream truck and Balloon Lady.
