The scriptures and prayers that are being shared this week for you and your communities are below:
16 When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he thought, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it.” 17 He was afraid and said, “How awesome is this place! This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven.”
Genesis 28:16-17
Compassionate God, Comfort Us
God of love, whose compassion never fails,
we bring you the griefs and perils of people
and nations, the pains of the sick and injured,
the sighing of prisoners and captives, the
sorrows of the bereaved, the necessities of the
homeless, the helplessness of the weak, the
despair of the weary, the failing powers of
the aged. Comfort and relieve them, O merciful
Lord, according to their needs and your great mercy.
(Anselm of Canterbury, 11th Century)
Surely the Presence of the Lord is in this Place,
sung by the choir at Woodlands UMC.
Let us be present to the Presence by praying:
You are here…
You are here…
You are here…
