Dear Carondelet Community,
It was wonderful to see parents/guardians for Back to School Night! It was a great night to welcome families back to campus and have a chance to meet their student's teachers and get a sense of our Monday schedule when all classes meet.
This Labor Day weekend kicks off a busy September. Academics, athletics, and student activities are in full swing and building momentum. The School Calendar on the Carondelet website is a good resource to keep up with all that is occurring on campus. You can also “subscribe” by clicking the red button under the monthly calendar to feed our events and schedules into your personal electronic calendar. Visit our new Carondelet Athletics Website and follow us on Instagram (@carondeletcougars) to keep in touch with Cougar Athletics.
I do want to highlight a few things to look forward to this month:
College Counseling Updates
On Wednesday, 9/6, at lunch the College Counselors will be hosting a college application workshop for our seniors. This is a very busy time for seniors as they apply for college, so we encourage them to use this time with their counselors to get organized and have their questions answered. On Thursday, 9/7, our junior and senior families are invited to the RACC Out-of-State College Fair in our Garaventa Center at 6:30 PM. Hope to see you there.
Club Fair
On Friday, 9/8 at lunch, we are holding our Carondelet Club Fair in the Amp. Students will have a chance to visit and learn about more than 50 clubs on campus and sign up to participate. Lots of clubs and interests from Arts and Crafts Club to Mock Trial to Honor Societies are available to explore. Clubs are a great way to get involved on campus, and Club Fair is a fun event for all. De La Salle will also be holding their club fair at the same time, so students can check out those clubs as well. We will also be hosting an Affinity Club Showcase in the Amp on Thursday in advance of Club Fair—come check it out! Celebrations of a variety of heritage months will begin in September with Hispanic Heritage Month, which kicks off on September 15. More info to come!
Frosh Alpha Retreat
After school on Friday, 9/8, freshmen are going to have a lot of fun at Camp Alpha! The Alpha retreat is a cherished, fun retreat for frosh that grounds our new students in our CSJ mission and Catholic faith. Students will enjoy an evening of fun activities, reflection, and prayer. They will then share in a giant sleepover at school. It’s a wonderful beginning to our robust retreat program!
Thank you for your continued partnership and support—we look forward to a great September!
In Unifying Love,
