On Sept. 22, Mayor Steven Del Duca’s 2026 Annual Golf Classic brought more than 160 golfers to Copper Creek Golf Club, uniting community leaders, businesses and residents in support of causes that change lives.

All net proceeds raised during the sold-out tournament will be directed to the Spirit of Generosity, which continues its meaningful support of more than 250 non-profit and community organizations, including children and youth groups, healthcare initiatives, seniors’ organizations and special needs programs. Since 2011, the Spirit of Generosity has raised millions of dollars to enhance the lives of many in our community and throughout Ontario.

"Our annual Golf Classic was about more than a great day on the golf course. It was about neighbours, community leaders and businesses coming together to support people and organizations that make a real difference in Vaughan and across Ontario. That's what the Spirit of Generosity is all about. I want to thank Brian Bentz for his outstanding leadership as Chair, our event sponsor City Park Homes, and every participant, volunteer and supporter who helped make this year's Golf Classic such a success. Every dollar raised will help strengthen the organizations that support our residents, and that's something our community can be incredibly proud of."

Mayor Del Duca spoke with CP24 following the shooting outside a Belleville synagogue on Yom Kippur - the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.

The Mayor spoke about the rise in antisemitism and Jew hatred in Canada, the need for action from all levels of government, and the responsibility we all share to defend the values that define this country.

His message was clear: Canada is a country built on tolerance, respect for others and peaceful coexistence. If you reject those values, then Canada is not the place for you.

We cannot allow hate and intolerance to become normalized in this country. Leaders at every level have a responsibility to speak up and take action.
