Final Reopening Update
With the school year commencing, this September 4 Update will be the final Friday communication addressing reopening issues exclusively. Going forward, all Health and Safety topics will be covered in the school's weekly FYI e-newsletter.

Please note that anytime you need to refer back to resources that have been provided to parents throughout the reopening process are now posted on the designated "Family Resources" webpage (formally titled "Reopening"). Please also note that all weekly FYIs are also posted on the school website. You will find both of these pages, "Family Resources" and "Weekly FYIs" by clicking on SCCS Parents on the home page.
Specials Classes this Year
Here we come! To say that we are excited about having our St. Croix Catholic students back is an understatement! 
 
Each week, our Kindergarten through 5th Grade students will be having PE and music classes, in addition to the opportunity to spend time in the atria with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) where students will also be able to put some of their artistic skills to work. Middle School students will have weekly technology class and PE, in addition to music/communications for 7th and 8th graders.
 
Many thanks to all of our teachers, catechists and extra helpers for their work in providing for a wonderful formation for our students as scholars, disciples, and servant leaders, even in the midst of a pandemic!
Spirit Wear
Since we will be having all-school Mass on Fridays, Spirit Days will be moved to Wednesdays. Students and faculty/staff are welcome to wear SCCS Spirit Wear
t-shirts/sweatshirts with our SCCS logo, Faith Rally t-shirt, or Created for Greatness
t-shirt with their usual uniform bottoms. Keep an eye out for our next round of sales of SCCS Spirit Wear/Gear; it will be coming soon!
Busing Update
We received confirmation this week that District 834 will begin busing SCCS students on Tuesday, September 8th, for the time being, Mondays through Thursdays. Fridays will be ‘No Bus Days’ and therefore Parent Drive Days. Should SCCS receive any further information from District 834, we will communicate those updates with you.
Mask Etiquette and Lanyards with Father Barnes
Students wearing their face masks properly will be key to maintaining a healthy and safe environment at SCCS.

Please note that students should put masks on before exiting the vehicle.

Please remind your students of the following mask etiquette basics while in the school building:
·  Mask should cover the nose and extend down to the chin.
·  Mask should not be pushed up or down to reveal the nose or mouth.
·  Students should avoid touching the front of their masks.

To assist students in keeping track of masks during recess and other mask breaks, SCCS will be providing lanyards to all students to attach to their masks on the first day of school.
New Floor Decals Helpful Reminders
Final preparations this week included placing decals throughout hallways to help remind all of us of our six foot physical distancing mitigation strategy.
