St. Anne Catholic Church
A "Few" Words from Fr. Robert
Fr. McCarthy - Thank You Good and Faithful Shepherd - Rest in Peace
To live in the midst of the world with no desire for its pleasures;
to be a member of every family, yet belonging to none;
to share all sufferings; to penetrate all secrets,
to heal all wounds;
to daily go from men to God to offer Him their homage and petitions;
to return from God to men to bring them His pardon and hope;
to have a heart of fire for charity and a heart of bronze for chastity; to bless and to be blest forever.
This is your life, O Priest of Jesus Christ!
-Jean-Baptiste Henri Lacordaire, O.P. (1802-1861)
Safety Procedures
As the virus continues there is certainly the temptation to grow lax with the safety procedures we have established. We follow these procedures to help ensure the safety of all of our parishioners, especially the weak and the vulnerable.

Here is what we have done and are resolved to continue to do:
  • Sanitize your hands when you come into church (fewer and fewer people are doing this)
  • Practice social distancing by sitting in the appropriately marked spots
  • Please only sit with people in your own household
  • Practice social distancing when coming to Communion and entering and exiting the church
  • Respond as a Church to the Body of Christ instead of individually when you present yourself for Holy Communion
  • Wearing masks is strongly encouraged as suggested by the CDC guidelines and the Mayor of Columbus’ mandate
  • Sing quietly or listen to the musicians
  • Sanitize the church after every Mass
  • The building bathrooms, door knobs, etc. are constantly sanitized during all the Mass times
  • As you have noticed, several reverent changes to the priests’ parts of the Liturgy have been instituted
Position Available
Our maintenance team needs help with deep cleaning and sanitizing the church for 2 hours on Saturday evenings and 6 hours on Sunday mornings and early afternoons. The position will pay $10 an hour. Please email or call 706-561-8678 if you are interested.
School Mass
It makes sense that our School Reopening Plan prohibits the gathering of all of our students into one place. This makes celebrating Mass together challenging but not impossible. Until this is all over, representatives from our student body will celebrate Mass socially distant from one another in church. The rest of the school will watch the live stream on their white boards in the classrooms. Communion will be distributed in the school by Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion after Mass is completed. I want to thank the school’s Mass Media Team for its hard work in putting this all together.
Help Needed
Some of our Liturgical Ministries are in need of additional members. We need new lectors and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. Many who served in these important ministries in the past have chosen not to return to Mass because of their age or vulnerability. If you are willing to help out, especially at the 12:30 Mass on Sunday, please call the Parish Office at 706-561-8678 and speak with Director of Stewardship Kimberly Kaup to express your willingness to serve. One of the friars or ministry leaders will then contact you.
Congratulations to our RCIA Participants
Last Thursday, seven people were received into the Church. Our RCIA candidates also received the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and First Communion. It was a beautiful ceremony and long overdue. I want to thank Fr. Manny for his very dedicated care of our RCIA program. I also want to thank the RCIA candidates for their patience. They have proven that good things do, indeed, come to those who wait. Here is a list of the candidates and the sacraments they received. Please be sure to congratulate them should you see them.
