Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time - September 6, 2020
On Labor Day Weekend and Parish Town Hall
Dear Friends,

I wish you a blessed Labor Day Weekend!

God has called us all to be co-workers in building up the kingdom of God though our hands, minds, and spirit. This requires that the dignity of the human person is upheld at every workplace and the rights of the workers are protected. The deeper meaning of the Labor Day Weekend calls us to focus on Work, Rest and Solidarity. Thus, no work is turned into a slavery and the human person is not defined by just a job.

During this Labor Day weekend, we remember millions of people who have lost jobs and livelihoods. We remember the essential workers and farm workers who risk their life during this pandemic to make life happen for others. We acknowledge various volunteers who contribute their time and talent in charity and solidarity for the well being of others. We respect and acknowledge the works that take place within homes and outside that makes family possible. We salute various workers, although not in the limelight, their toil and sweat make our life possible. I pray that the good Lord bless them all!

On Parish Town Hall: I thank you for your participation in the Parish Town Hall Meeting! We had great participation! Your ideas, inputs, willingness to volunteer, and desire for creative ways to minister during this pandemic is greatly appreciated. Parish Pastoral Council members are pooling together the inputs from the meeting and the suggestions received by emails. Upcoming weeks' e-bulletins will provide a detailed follow up plan.

Thanking you and wishing you a blessed Labor Day Weekend!

THANK YOU!!!

Our gardens have been in desperate need of some maintenance and care. So, we have been busy fixing and replacing parts of the irrigation system, installing weed control barriers, re-locating plants, and planting new ones. We want to thank Llouise Adamo for graciously donating 6 Emerald Green Arborvitae trees that have been planted next to the community building. We are so grateful to Llouise for her generosity and goodness. May God bless her and her family!

LABOR DAY BLESSINGS

Work, Rest and Solidarity:
Bishop Cantú’s Message to the Faithful on Labor Day Weekend.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

On this Labor Day weekend, on which we Americans have traditionally rested from work and spent time with family and friends, often in backyard cookouts, I wish to share a few thoughts with you. I wish to reflect with you about the Lord’s Day and its focus on worship, rest, and solidarity as well as our baptismal call to live as God’s co-workers, building up the Kingdom of God through the work of our hands, minds, and spirits.
