City News Hour September 11, 2017 Canceled
The City News Hour for September 11, 2017 is canceled. The survey was presented the September 5th council meeting. You can review the results on our website.
Sunset Terrace Update
66th Street to 68th Street
The Contractor will be grading and seeding the week of September 11th.

68th Street to 70th Street
The Contractor will begin work in this area the week of September 18th. Residents on that segment will be notified.

70th Street to 73rd Street
The Contractor will be installing sanitary sewer services the week of September 11th. All water services have been connected to the new water main.

If you experience any issues with water pressure or have rust or dark color water, please stop running the water and call Wyatt Klooster, Bolton & Menk, at 563-249-1719. He will assist you with the process. The Contractor plans to works Saturdays if weather permitting.
2017 Sidewalk Improvement Project
Work between 64th Street and 66th Street will continue the week of September 11th. The Contractor will remove barricades from driveways once residents are allowed to use them again.

The contractor will repair the intake tops at the intersection of 73rd Street and Del Matro Avenue the week of September 11th.

The Contractor will be grading and seeding areas that have been completed.

Residents looking for a quote to redo the remaining part of their driveways can call Kingston Services at 515-221-9832. This work will not be part of the project. This extra work is between the homeowner and contractor.
Use Precaution
There is a storm drain/intake on 73 rd and Forest Ct. that is scheduled to be replaced in the next two weeks. In the meantime, please use caution while traveling that stretch of road way. There is a sharp metal edge that may cause damage. 
University Avenue Redesign Update
The concept design process for the University Avenue Redesign started on July 10th with a presentation from Bolton and Menk. Mayor Willits appointed over 50 stakeholders to serve on the complete advisory committee and taskforce committee for this project at the July 17th council meeting. The Complete Streets Advisory Committee has met twice.The meeting notes are located on our projects page.
