Community eNews | September 7, 2025 | | Students participated in an Out-of-State College Fair this week. See more photos here. | | A Message from the Director of Wellness Counseling: | |
Dear Carondelet Community,
We are thrilled to welcome students back to campus and to see the Cannon Wellness Center filled with energy. The Cannon offers a supportive, restorative space where all students are invited to drop in during break, lunch, or after school for wellness activities, creative programming, or simply a moment to recharge.
Our Wellness Counseling Team provides short-term individual and group support, wellness education, art-based activities, telehealth room access, and community referrals. Our goal is to help students care for their mental health while fostering connection and resilience.
September is National Suicide Prevention Month, and this upcoming week our community will highlight mental health awareness through a variety of campus activities and programming. Details of the offerings can be found below. We encourage families to continue these important conversations at home, as open communication plays a key role in student well-being.
We are grateful for the chance to partner with you in supporting your daughters. Please reach out anytime with questions, concerns, or requests for community referrals. Visit the Cannon Wellness Center webpage for more information and links to resources.
Warmly,
Stacie Besagno
Director of Wellness Counseling

| | Bishop Barber Upcoming Visit | | |
Bishop Barber Presiding Over Upcoming Mass
The Carondelet community is blessed to welcome Bishop Barber on Wednesday, September 24. He is presiding over the Mass for Peace and Justice. Preparations for this important event will occur in religious studies classes. The Spiritual Life Council (SLC) will be sharing resources on the Mass through the Early Early Show. The deans will also be reviewing dress uniform and behavior expectations as we get closer to the date.
We are looking forward to welcoming the Bishop and joining in prayer as a Carondelet community.
| | | A Night of Gratitude + Celebration | | |
This past Wednesday, we honored two groups of donors whose investments in Carondelet help keep our mission and vision strong. We gratefully acknowledged our Tuition Assistance supporters and our 1965 Society members at lovely receptions with President Jessica Mix ’99, faculty and staff, and students.
For more information on how to be part of these core philanthropic programs and join these esteemed benefactors, please reach out to your Development Team.

| | | Be Recognized on the Power of Her Wall | | |
We are grateful for individuals and families whose belief in our mission and have made extraordinary progress possible in this Campaign. Their investments have raised $2.6 million.
With less than $1 million to go, we feel a renewed sense of hope and determination. The project is on schedule and within budget, with anticipated completion this November. Soon, our students will have the learning, training, and wellness spaces they truly deserve.
Every contribution to this campaign counts. Gifts of $1,000+ will be recognized on the Power of Her Donor Wall in the new Gym Lobby. There are still dedicated naming opportunities in the Performance Center and at the CAC for those who wish to leave a lasting legacy.

Cell Phones and Screen Time Resources
Keeping up with technology, social media platforms, and current trends can often feel overwhelming. Our students are often on the cutting edge, and it can be difficult to hold them accountable and ensure that they are making age-appropriate choices when we ourselves are not in the know. Common Sense Media and their partners are working to build a healthy, equitable, and empowering future for all kids in the digital age. They have dozens of helpful articles aimed for parents including guides to Snapchat and TikTok, as well as tips for the best privacy settings and how to help teens with balancing phones, screens, and sleep.
