Superintendent’s Report
Heath Hogan, superintendent of schools, reported that he attended the SEF board of trustees meeting, the Kansas Education Systems Accreditation (KESA) review meeting, the Central Kansas Cooperative in Education Board of Control meeting, the KASB meet and greet with state school board candidates, the athletic board meeting, the Smoky Hill Advisory Board meeting, the Kansas School Superintendents' Association Links meeting and the KASB legislative listening session. He also attended the Mayor’s Cup football game and congratulated both teams on a great start to their seasons and recognized Salina South High School on their victory. Superintendent Hogan thanked the SPS athletic staff for their time and effort in organizing the game. He shared that the district underwent its annual audit and recognized Lisa Peters, executive director of business, and the business department for their assistance in the process. He also participated in two interviews with KSAL for the Morning Show and for the halftime of the Mayor’s Cup game, and was interviewed for the ‘No Manual Included’ podcast.
