In celebration of MARWeek, the AAMA is conducting a video contest highlighting the unsung heroes of health care: you!

Post a video using the theme “A Day in the Life of a Medical Assistant” for a chance to win an AAMA logo item and free AAMA membership for a year!

Document what an average day as a medical assistant looks like, including what time you get up, the various tasks throughout the day, and how you relax at the end of a long workday. Tag the AAMA social media handles and use the hashtags: #MARWeek2021 #MARWeekVideoContest2021 #AAMAVideoContest2021.

The NCCRT Publishes AAMA Interview
In March 2021, the AAMA was named an honoree in the 2021 80% in Every Community Awards for furthering the goal of reaching colorectal cancer screening rates of 80% and higher.

In recognition of this accomplishment, the National Colorectal Cancer Roundtable (NCCRT) has published an interview with AAMA CEO and Legal Counsel Donald Balasa, JD, MBA, and AAMA COO Nikki Hochschild, MBA.

AAMA CEO Elected CAAHEP President
In May 2021, the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) Board of Directors elected AAMA CEO and Legal Counsel Donald Balasa, JD, MBA, as 2021–2022 president. He officially took office on July 1, 2021.

As CAAHEP president, Balasa will help ensure the quality of allied health programs accredited by CAAHEP—including medical assisting programs. This will strengthen the positioning of medical assisting as the profession of choice for the rapidly changing American health care delivery system.
