White Rose Senior Center

Hello Lisa,

Introducing LEGO SERIOUS PLAY for Older Adults Brought to You by Penn Cares Support Services

This Class will be held on Monday, 9/9/24. Two sessions will be available: 9:30-11:30 & 12:00-1:30.

The LEGO SERIOUS PLAY experience combines visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning styles into one uniquely creative and powerful approach.

You will use specific LEGO blocks and build models in response to different prompts and questions posed by the facilitator. Participants then will share their models and tell their stories, encouraging reflection and the use of imagination. Lego Serious Play can bring out memories and stories that may never have been uncovered or shared in typical conversations.

This experimental program is designed to strengthen cognitive functioning and encourage participants to build connections with others. Building LEGO sets are a great way to improve manual dexterity and is a great outlet for creativity!

WHITE ROSE SENIOR CENTER IS LOOKING FOR HOME DELIVERED MEAL DRIVERS

Are you looking for a rewarding volunteer job? White Rose Senior Center is looking for YOU!

Home Delivered Meals are delivered currently one time a week to homebound older adults that the York County Area Agency on Aging have assessed and deemed appropriate.

White Rose Senior Center has 10 routes that vary with a few clients to upwards of 28 clients. The route may take 1- 1 1/2 hours and the meals are ready for delivery about 10:00 on Mondays.

You need to have a car, a valid driver's license, and enjoy older adults. You may be the only person that the client may see all day. Our drivers LOVE this volunteer opportunity and have made great friends with those that they serve.

If you are interested, please contact Lisa Krout at White Rose Senior Center (717-843-9704) for additional information. She can set up a "ride along" with an experienced driver to see if you may like helping an older adult in our community!
