In Memory of Longtime KAM Volunteer Dave Robbins

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of longtime KAM volunteer David Robbins. Dave volunteered for many years, faithfully out 2-3 times a week, and served as our lead on metal work for aircraft restoration.

If you knew Dave, you had an instant friend. A gentle giant who would welcome anyone with a smile, firm handshake, Dave will be missed around the museum. Details for service are below. The family has set up a memorial with KAM in his honor.

Dave's service will be held at Wichita Bible Church on Tuesday, September 6th at 10:00AM. His memorial has been set up with Kansas Aviation Museum. You can read his obituary from Dignity Memorial.

Senior Thursday Series

Join us on Thursday, September 9th, for our Senior Thursday Series. We are excited to have retired President of the Wichita Aero Club, Dave Franson as our speaker.

Dave has years of stories working for Learjet, running an aviation marketing company, and much more. Bring your friends. Program begins at 10:00AM.

"Do the impossible, because almost everyone has told me my ideas are merely fantasies."

Howard Hughes

August was a great month for KAM. We were honored to open our Women of Aviation exhibit, and host some incredible women in aviation. To stand with Col. McClain, Mary Aikins and Connie Palacioz was great.

In addition, I got to knock a bucket item off my list. With KAM's support of Aerospace Night at the Wind Surge game, I was able to throw out the first pitch. It's been on my list of things to do since I was a kid. It was a little high and right, but it didn't bounce!

Keep following dreams. No matter how small or big, you can achieve great things. It's how we change the world.

Sincerely,

Ben Sauceda
