Iola Mills in Iola: White Lucy
Sunday, September 13, 6pm
White Lucy is the Chicago-based project of Chase Carson and Micah Boyd, making what they call Working Class Rhythm & Blues—a blend of psychedelic R&B, soul, rock, and experimental pop rooted in community and class consciousness.
Formed in 2016, White Lucy has always been about more than two people making songs. Through their music and an ever-growing circle of collaborators, Chase and Micah explore love, mortality, work, struggle, joy, and what it means to take care of one another in an increasingly isolating world.
At its core, White Lucy is an attempt to build something communal: music made by the people, with the people, for the people.
