From the desk of the Executive Director, Pamela McQueen

Dear Villa Madonna Academy Alumni,

As a new school year begins, there is a wonderful energy on campus. Hallways are once again filled with students, classrooms are alive with learning, and our faculty and staff have welcomed our families back with the care and enthusiasm that have long defined Villa.

This year also marks a new chapter in my role at Villa. After thirty years as the high school/junior high principal, including the past eight years serving in the dual role that included Executive Director, I am beginning my first school year focused fully on the role of Executive Director.

While my responsibilities may look different, what has not changed is my love for Villa and my belief in its mission.

One of our most important endeavors this year is the development of a comprehensive Strategic Plan. In September, we will invite you to participate through a brief survey and listening sessions. We want to hear what you believe Villa does exceptionally well, where we face challenges, and what opportunities we should pursue as we look toward the years ahead.

As we undertake this important planning process, we are also laying the groundwork for the next chapter of philanthropic support for Villa. Through the generosity of so many, we have made significant investments in our campus, including the renovation of the Center Building and the new Chase and Cole Fischer STEM Wing. Our responsibility now is ensuring the strength of Villa for tomorrow. By building our endowment, we can move forever forward—preserving what makes Villa extraordinary while creating opportunities for generations yet to come.

I look forward to sharing more with you throughout the year. Most of all, I hope you will stay connected. Come back to campus. Attend an event. Reach out to a former classmate. Share your Villa story with us - and when the opportunity arises this fall, please lend your voice to our strategic planning process.



As we begin this new school year, I am grateful for all who came before us and excited about the possibilities that lie ahead. Please continue to see the beauty in the world and love life – because that is Villa. We, are Villa.

The alumni office recently learned of the passing of Mary Carolyn Bresser Eilerman '61. Mary Carolyn passed away in August 2025. A devoted member of St. Paul Church in Florence, Mary found joy in her faith, family, and friends. Her greatest treasures were her granddaughters, Olivia and Anna, with whom she spent countless joyful moments. She was laid to rest at Mother of God cemetery.

Virginia McCormack Meador '44 died peacefully on January 24, 2026. She lived a very full life for 98 years, surrounding herself with her big family and lots of friends. Ginny loved going to sporting events and dance recitals for her

grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a proud Gigi to 18 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. Virginia was laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Cincinnati.

Sr. Ann Middendorf '45 passed away on August 10. Born Margaret Ann, she graduated from Villa and went on to receive her B.A. in Music from the College of Mount St. Jospeh. She spent years teaching Special Education at several schools, including Blessed Sacrament. She retired from ministry in 2002. Services were held on August 17.

Sr. Martha Walther '52 passed away on August 20. She entered St. Walburg in 1952 and her first profession followed in 1954. She completed her B.A. in Spanish in 1965 at Villa Madonna College (now Thomas More University) and taught at St. Paul, Holy Cross, St. Henry High School and Villa Madonna Academy. She retired from work in 2011. Services will be held on August 30.
