Scoots: Best BBQ in Virginia!
|
|
In August, Virginia Living Magazine held its first ever
BBQ Bracket Battle. A panel of expert judges started with 250 options and chose the 32 best BBQ restaurants to compete. Gloucester's very own Scoot's BBQ was awarded the championship! Scoot's will be featured in the December 2019 issue of Virginia Living. We are so proud and encourage everyone to go enjoy some brisket, pulled pork, or ribs.

Entering The Goodman Home is like stepping into a treasure chest filled with the finest collections of china, sterling, lighting fixtures, and high-end furniture.
A trusted local business located on Gloucester Main Street for thirteen years,
The Goodman Home specializes in hard-to-find home décor, antiques, jewelry, furnishings, and collectibles.
The family-owned and operated business, formerly known as Goodman's Interiors and Antiques, believes your home décor should be a reflection of you. Owner Lisa Kidd-Goodman says if you’re looking for items that "bring you joy” and will be part of your home for years to come, “The Goodman Home is a wonderful place to start.”
While it can seem like chain retailers are the only way to quickly and affordably furnish your home, loyal fans of The Goodman Home know what’s most important: quality. “There is absolutely no comparison,” says Kidd-Goodman. “For the prices we see people investing in short-term furnishings for their home, they could be spending the same amount for an item that would last a lifetime.” Of the hand-selected pieces on the showroom floor, many breathtaking antiques have already stood the test of time. The collection also features mid-century modern, traditional, and new furniture, each piece with a story to tell.
You can follow The Goodman Home on
Facebook, and they will be regularly uploading featured items and flash sale info to their
Instagram Account.
In addition to their showroom in Gloucester, Kidd-Goodman and her husband Alan Goodman have opened a second location in Williamsburg featuring additional furnishings, fixtures, jewelry, linens, china, sterling, and more. She welcomes new shoppers: “If you have not visited us yet, come in and meet us! We are confident that everyone will find something they love.”

When looking to relocate our fabrication shop two years ago, we explored several cities. We quickly realized that Gloucester would be our new home! With the cost of Gloucester real estate, we were able find an excellent location on the main highway for our shop, and a new showroom! The Gloucester Economic Development Department was friendly and eager to help with great business incentives. It was obvious to us that Gloucester was invested in growing, and this move would allow us to reach the existing families of Gloucester and the many new ones to come.
