Get In The Know

There’s still plenty of time to sign up for a fall class at the Zoo. Learn something new, meet an animal friend, and have a great time, no matter your age!

Tiny Explorer classes are designed for a preschool child and adult to experience together. This fall, it’s all about different diets. Animal Insights is designed for children in grades K-1. We’ll be studying tortoises, rhinos, and alpacas. Amazing Adaptations is for children in grades 2-3. It’ll take a closer look at interesting body features. A Day in the Life is a class for grades 4-6. Participants will learn about being zoo keepers.

We also have home school classes for children ages 6-8 and 9-12. Check out the curriculum focuses on our website!

A Big Anniversary!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our zookeeper, Gretchen, recently celebrated 20 years at the Potawatomi Zoo. She started as an animal care intern and has taken care of many of our animals, including carnivores, over the years, including raising Amur leopard cubs, training tigers, and assisting with vet procedures. Gretchen is an amazing asset to the Potawatomi Zoo, and we’re so grateful to have her.
