What Animals Need

Did you know you could buy a toy for an red panda? Or help enrich a marmoset? You could even give a bird a new place to perch! Our zoo keepers have curated an Amazon Wishlist with enrichment and husbandry items that will help them do their jobs better and provide a greater quality of life for our animals.

Thank you for your support!

Masamba Makes A Big Move

Friends, we have some important news to share with you. Our beloved southern white rhino, Masamba, is making a big move. He's leaving the Potawatomi Zoo this fall and heading The Wilds, a 10,00-acre conservation center accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) in Cumberland, OH.

Although it’s bittersweet for us, it’s the start of what we hope is a thrilling new adventure for Masamba. He’ll be introduced to a crash of five to six female rhinos, with the goal of breeding and contributing to the white rhino population in zoos. Currently, Masamba is behind the scenes getting acclimated to his transport crate, but we’ll do our best to get you a chance to see him before he leaves. Stay tuned to our social media for updates!
