2020 September Buzz
Family Fall Festival
We're having a picnic at the Zoo! Join us for the Family Fall Festival on September 26 from 3-8 pm, a unique Zoo experience!

Each ticket includes admission to the Zoo for one person, unlimited train and carousel rides, and one individually packaged adult or children’s meal for the safety and convenience of guests.

There will be live music in the Picnic Grove by UltraFab, improv and music by Lark Comedy Institute, soccer with Futbaleros Academy, music and chalk on the plaza, bubbles, a photo booth, and unique animal enrichment activities like pumpkin smashing. The playground will be open and we'll have Zoo Farm and fish food available for the only time this year.

Tickets for members are $20 for adults and $10 for children. Tickets for non-members are $25 for adults and $15 for children. Tickets must be purchased online in advance. They will not be available at the gate in order to have a contactless entry.

This event is sponsored by Centier Bank, Gordon’s Food Service, Burns Rent-Alls, and U-93.

Due to state regulations, visitors over age 8 must enter the Zoo wearing a mask. Thank you for helping us keep the Zoo safe for everyone!

ZOO BOO 2020
Zoo Boo this year is going to be a little different than it’s been before, due to health and safety considerations.

We are offering more dates but timed entry tickets must be purchased in advance.

THE BIGGEST CHANGE: Instead of having candy handed out by vendors around the Zoo, we will have the Picnic Grove set up in a fun, not-too-scary Treat Trail that is $3 per person with a bag of candy at the end.

Admission is regular cost (adult non-members: $11, child/senior non-members: $9, babies 2 and under: free). Potawatomi Zoo Members are free, but will need to reserve an entry time.

The train and carousel will both be open again! The train will be special every day and tickets are $3 per person. The carousel is $2 per seated rider every day.

Masks will be required for entry to the Zoo, inside buildings, and whenever you can’t socially distance appropriately outside.

Tickets will be available September 24 at 10 am.

Members will need to register in advance before reserving tickets to get the member pricing.
Fall EdZOOcation

October and November EdZOOcation classes are still open for registration.

Classes are always designed with age-appropriate games, learning, and animal encounters. Topics this fall range from learning about invasive species to animal homes to foxes to being a zoo keeper.

New this year, we’re also offering homeschool classes for children ages 6-9. Homeschool classes will be about endangered species.

Masks are required for all class participants for the duration of the class.

Times and prices vary, but as always, there is a discount for Zoo members.

2021 Calendar Contest!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's 2021 Conservation Calendar Contest.

The Grand Prize winning photograph was Ryan Clark's picture of Masamba galloping. Judges were impressed at the clarity of the picture and how playful Masamba looks.

Other winners include pictures of the Amur tigers, Amur leopard, peacock, Red Barn, Smiley the alligator, George the fennec fox stretching, Luna the colobus monkey lounging, a swimming otter, and Onyo, our beloved senior lion.

Calendars will be mailed to Zoo members in December.

Volunteer Open House
We're hosting a volunteer open house Sunday, September 27, from 4:30 to 6 pm. Drop in to learn more about volunteering with the Zoo, meet staff and current volunteers.

We do occasionally have volunteer opportunities for children, but this Open House is just for grown-ups!
