Successful Accreditation
We are so proud to announce that
the Potawatomi Zoo has been accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums for another five years.
The inspection team visited the Zoo this summer to thoroughly examine every aspect of the Zoo from animal welfare, to safety procedures, to counting drinking fountains.
AZA accreditation has been the gold standard of zoo accreditation since the early 1980s, and we have been consistently accredited since 1987. We are so proud to be one of only 236 zoos in the country to be accredited by AZA, and we will continue to uphold the highest standards of education, conservation, and animal quality of life.
