Shining a Light into the Future

Organizers of the Clintonville Area Foundation’s 12th Annual fundraiser event, October 15 at Clintonville Riverside Golf Club, are busy putting all the pieces together for the event. As in recent years the Foundation opted for a casual gathering event, and the theme is Light Up the Night, Shine a Light Into The Future.

The evening will start at 6 pm and will include cocktails, strolling dinner with several stations, including abundant appetizers and desserts. In addition, a silent auction will be held with several quality items being offered. Attendees may dress in casual attire.

“A lot needs to happen in the next six weeks for the event to assure a success,” .said Clintonville Area Foundation Chairperson Lori List. “Fortunately, everything is falling into place nicely, thanks to the hard work of the members of our fund raiser committee. This is a fun event that has a serious purpose: to raise money to help our community,”

“Be sure to stick around for a surprise at the end.”

Following the dinner, the annual Community Hero Award will be presented. The award and accompanying charitable fund were created by Dan Olk, a 1975 graduate of Clintonville High School who works in Ames, Iowa, as a soil biochemist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Also, as part of the program, recent benefactors of the Clintonville Area Foundation grants will be recognized.

Reservations are $75 per person, which includes dinner, appetizers and desserts: $45 is tax deductible.  The deadline for registration is Tuesday, October 4, and folks can do so by contacting Lori List at (715) 823-3158.

Bear Creek Lions

Congratulations to Lion Mary Behnke, recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, and to Lion Bill Klegin, who was named Bear Creek Lion of the Year, both earlier this summer! The Melvin Jones award is one of the highest awards the club can present to someone for humanitarian service. The Lion of the Year Award recognizes outstanding service, loyalty and devotion to Lionism. Mary and Bill are both SO deserving of these special recognitions. Thank you both for what you do to make a difference for the club, in the community and beyond.

Exciting upgrades coming to our Main Street station. We put in a memorial garden to honor of all who have served and given their time to the service. A huge thank you to Tom Jack for helping us design and build, Sue Aschliman for the idea to honor past staff members and improve the look of Main Street, and our staff who put in a full day of hard work building it. A bench will also be placed soon.

Together with Garnish Market, we are excited to share our first annual FALL FEST!

Bring the entire family - the lot will be full of fun: food, drink, music, shopping with some AMAZING vendors, pumpkins & other fall faves, a flower truck, home decor, candles, a sundae bar, coffee + hot chocolate + hot cider sipping, photo area, clothing & more!

CEO Phishing Emails are one type of Business Email Compromise in which the fraudster typically aims to:

• Impersonate your CEO with an urgent request to perform a task.

• Request information which may include paying a time-sensitive invoice, an urgent wire transfer, or request you to reply with confidential or personal information.

Clues that it's not your CEO: the email address or signature is not correct, the urgent tone of the email, even grammar errors. Verify the request with information you have on file before acting.

Peyton

Help us celebrate our August Employee of the Month!! ✨✨Peyton✨✨

Peyton started with us in December and has gained so much confidence since then. We are so proud of her and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in the next few years. The thing she likes most about work is being able to spend time with her best friend Morgan who also works here. She is nervous about learning how to drive but excited that she can get herself to work without needing a ride. She also loves snuggling her cat named CheezeIt!
