The Altavista Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce and welcome Christy Lucy as Chamber President. Christy has worked at the Bedford Chamber of Commerce as the Director of Marketing and Special Events. While working for the Bedford Chamber, Christy advocated for the value of the Chamber in the community and developed programs that benefited both the chamber and the business community. Most recently, Christy worked for Centra Health also in Bedford. The Claire Parker Foundation is a non profit organization started by Jordan and Connie Parker in memory of their daughter, Claire. The foundation’s mission and goal is to care for every child fighting cancer. This is done through the numerous programs it provides to its partnered hospitals. They are currently partnering with 12 hospitals and their pediatric oncology clinics across the states of Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Texas, providing numerous programs of support.
