Workforce Innovation Start Summit in October

Hiring continues to be a challenge for many of our members. There is a unique workforce event coming to Biddeford next month that is designed to generate some new helpful ideas ... if you are interesting in developing a potential solution to some of the pressing workforce challenges that we have around here, this is for you!

The Workforce Innovation Start Summit is an interactive event where participants will develop a new product or service aimed at addressing this challenge: How might we develop a new solution to a workforce challenge in a way that benefits both employers and employees?

This fun and fast-paced innovation challenge kicks off on Friday, October 20th with a networking event at Think Tank in Biddeford that will include a panel presentation on the topic of a mutually beneficial workforce, from the perspective of both employers and employees. On day two at UNE, participants will be randomly placed in teams and take part in workshops and mentorship as they develop their ideas. The event culminates in a final pitch competition, where teams have the chance to win a $2,000 or $1,000 cash prize.

This event is a collaborative effort brought to you by the Roux Institute, the University of New England – College of Business, the Biddeford & Saco Chamber of Commerce, Think Tank Biddeford, the City of Biddeford, Biddeford Regional Center of Technology, Heart of Biddeford, and the Maine Department of Labor.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is required:
