Ministry Weekend
Saturday & Sunday, September 23 -24, after all Masses, Hendricks Hall
Help us celebrate our parish's 30th anniversary this Ministry Weekend. Stop by Hendricks Hall after all five Masses for food, refreshments, information on our parish's 50+ ministries, and a special tribute to our 30-year history. This is a great way to learn about the many ways you can get involved - whether just for an hour or for a longer group commitment. St. Brigid of Kildare Parish has so much to discover, stop by to learn a little more.

Parish spaces have a new look
As part of the parish's ongoing goal to create spaces on our parish campus that embrace hospitality, the Environmental Team has refreshed the look of the Carr Nursery, the Massey Teen Room and the Youth Ministry Director's Office. Over the summer, these spaces received new carpet, a fresh coat of paint, televisions and updated decor.
The Carr Nursery will continue to be a space for small children to play under parent supervision while also being another space within Hendricks Hall for parish committees and small groups to hold meetings. To reserve this room for your next meeting, please contact Karen Cremeans. The Massey Teen Room will continue to be a space for the youth of St. Brigid of Kildare Parish to embrace the future of High School Youth Ministry through small group meetings and planning sessions. This room boosts function, collaboration and sophistication.
During Ministry Weekend, please plan to stop by both of these newly renovated spaces. The Carr Nursery will showcase fun displays of all the ways our Parish has grown over the last 30 years.
The Massey Teen Room will host indoor and outdoor activities focusing on this year's Youth Ministry Theme: Identity Revealed: Revealing Our Identity as Sons and Daughters of God.

St. Brigid is My Home: The Siefkers
My husband and I grew up in the same small community where almost everyone shared a deep catholic faith, so we immediately felt comfortable when we joined the St.Brigid parish 22 years ago. We were not as involved when our children were young, but as they entered school and started religious education, we found it easier to become involved and volunteer. Helping for the past 13 years as a babysitter and classroom aide has been a nice way to give back and be a part of the kid's catholic education. As our children became older and joined the middle and high school youth groups, they met other teens who shared the same love of God and the church. They've also learned to give of themselves by volunteering for activities such as, Hunt for Treasure sale, Thanksgiving meal delivery, Run the Race, and Christmas in Dublin.
We are very fortunate and thankful to live close to St. Brigid and to have the opportunity to go to mass during the week and visit the Blessed Sacrament often. It's been wonderful getting to know the families that we've seen for many years sitting in the same pews at the same mass time, and over many years we have and continue to build a faith community that fortifies us with others on the same path. It's comforting to know this large parish is made of many individuals who are connected by a genuine love of God and a true catholic faith. This is why we feel St. Brigid is our home.

EPIC Middle School Youth Group
A huge thank you to the parent volunteers who helped at EPIC on September 17. We had more than 130 kids attend and made literally thousands of toys for dog shelters, placemats for retirement homes and joke books for Children's Hospital. We hope the kids enjoyed kickoff. We couldn't have done it without our awesome parent volunteers!
TAASC Service Day Oct 15
Our EPIC Youth Group will help out at TAASC - The Adaptive Adventure Sports Coalition -- on October 15. TAASC is a local non-profit that provides opportunities for veterans, adults, and children with disabilities to participate in adventure sports activities. We will complete a lot of outdoor work to winterize their property on Harriott Road by the the Scioto River. This will involve widening their walking paths by removing a lot of brush and weeds, cleaning out their sheds for bikes, canoes and other equipment, making sure the equipment is winterized and in good shape for next year, and possibly some power-washing and painting.
As always, we will begin with 12:15 p.m. Mass, sitting in the reserved section by the baptismal font; then we will go to Hendrick's Hall for pizza, games and discussion. We will leave for TAASC at about 1:45 p.m. and will return by 4:15 p.m. for parent pickup. Students should wear their long sleeve EPIC t-shirts and bring a pair of work gloves. If you do not have a t-shirt yet, you can get it and change before we leave. Parent volunteers are still needed. Contact Kim if you can help.
2017/2018 EPIC Events:
November 19 Thanksgiving Meal Deliveries
December 10 On-Site Blanket Making for Kids in Foster Care
January 21 Down Syndrome Association of Central Ohio
February 18 Dublin Food Pantry Warehouse
March 18 Visit Retirement Homes
April 8 Columbus Zoo & other service
