Dear Parents and Families,
Welcome Back!
The start of a new school year is filled with possibilities and promise for your child. There will be new lessons to learn, new challenges to face, new friends to make, and the wonder of seeing your child grow and mature before your very own eyes. It is our commitment to enrich your child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. By nurturing strong Catholic virtues and moral values, each child is prepared to enter an ever-changing society. Our goal is to inspire every child to reach his/her fullest potential. It is important for you, as parents, to support and nurture this important growth time for your child.
Each year we embark on a school-wide theme. Keeping in mind our commitment to your child, this year we are going to explore mindfulness presented in I Am Peace by Susan Verde. This is an ideal storybook for us to enjoy together.
The principles presented in I Am Peace introduce children to the essentials of good character: understanding themselves better, seeing beauty, and acting with kindness, compassion, and empathy. Each month the students will learn more about mindfulness, why it is important as well as learn how to incorporate it into their lives. These lessons will help them along their journey in life. My monthly letter in the Cougar Chronicle will address the principle that your children are learning about in the classroom. Our goal is to lead young minds toward what is noble, gentle, and fine.
