Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome Back!

The start of a new school year is filled with possibilities and promise for your child. There will be new lessons to learn, new challenges to face, new friends to make, and the wonder of seeing your child grow and mature before your very own eyes. It is our commitment to enrich your child’s spiritual, intellectual, physical, emotional and social development. By nurturing strong Catholic virtues and moral values, each child is prepared to enter an ever-changing society. Our goal is to inspire every child to reach his/her fullest potential. It is important for you, as parents, to support and nurture this important growth time for your child.

Each year we embark on a school-wide theme. Keeping in mind our commitment to your child, this year we are going to explore mindfulness presented in I Am Peace by Susan Verde. This is an ideal storybook for us to enjoy together.

The principles presented in I Am Peace introduce children to the essentials of good character: understanding themselves better, seeing beauty, and acting with kindness, compassion, and empathy. Each month the students will learn more about mindfulness, why it is important as well as learn how to incorporate it into their lives. These lessons will help them along their journey in life. My monthly letter in the Cougar Chronicle will address the principle that your children are learning about in the classroom. Our goal is to lead young minds toward what is noble, gentle, and fine.

I am looking forward to an exciting school year and to seeing everyone very soon!!

Peace,

Mrs. Sarpu

A Farewell to Mrs. Kownacki

We send warm wishes to Mrs. Kownacki. Mrs. Kownacki has been a part of Corpus Christi School for over 23 years where she set a tone in establishing a warm, happy place where

children felt safe and cared for each day.

We will miss Mrs. Kownacki and the nurturing attention she gave all her students. In addition to teaching them how to read, write, and add and subtract, she taught them how to share and care for each other. She inspired her students to have a love for learning.

We are grateful for the many years of her devoted service that she has given our beloved school. We wish Mrs. Kownacki all the best as she begins a new chapter as Associate Principal at Saint Thomas the Apostle!

God’s Blessings to Mrs. Kownacki!

Please join me in welcoming the following individuals to Corpus Christi School. They are each very talented and will be a great addition to our already spectacular faculty. I am blessed to be in the company of such an amazing team of teachers and staff. They look forward to meeting you at the Back to School Night. ~ Mrs. Sarpu
