Spotlight of the Month

Old Talbott Tavern

The Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce would like to recognize the Old Talbott Tavern as Spotlight of the Month.

Stay, dine and be entertained! Since the late 1700s, the Old Talbott Tavern, located in historic Bardstown on Court Square has provided shelter, food and drink to Kentucky travelers. It is home to the world’s oldest bourbon bar and has a long list of famous (and infamous) visitors including Jesse James, Abraham Lincoln and Daniel Boone! You can book an overnight room in one of the six historical rooms or next door in one of the 15 modern rooms at the sister property, Talbott Inn. The Old Talbott Tavern is open daily for lunch and dinner Sunday – Thursday from 11-8 PM and Friday – Saturday 11-9 PM. The world famous bourbon bar is open every weekend with live local musicians performing from 8-12. Come have a drink with history!

WMB Nelson County Officers

Since 1865, Wilson & Muir Bank has proudly contributed to the growth of Kentucky’s communities by helping individuals and businesses with their financial needs. Here in Nelson County, we offer all the checking, deposit, loan and convenience services, including online banking and mobile banking, that you will find at the larger banks. But it makes a difference when you are doing business with your neighbors. We understand your goals because we are just like you. We are farmers and fiduciaries, builders and brewers. We are healthcare workers and handy workers; tinkers and teachers; shop owners and students; moms and dads; sons and daughters…. And we all have the same goals: we want to achieve our dreams and we want our communities to thrive.

We are very proud to be the second oldest bank in the Bluegrass State and are humbled by the legacy that comes with that designation. WMB has survived several economic challenges by remaining focused on time-tested banking principles dedicated to protecting our clients' wealth. We still offer a very simple approach to banking based on delivering a deeper, personal service. Tell us what you need, and we’ll find the best solution. It’s been our commitment for nearly 160 years. Building strong relationships, providing exceptional service, and remaining focused on the community are qualities that couldn't be more

important any time in our history as they are today. Learn more about us at www.wilsonmuirbank.com or better still, come by to see us soon. We do our best work face to face. Together we build communities.
