September 2024 Newsletter

Together, let's kick off a brighter future for foster youth.

The YSU Penguins are away, so we are taking over Stambaugh Stadium for our Home Team Celebration.

Celebrate Home Team with us on Saturday, September 28 from 6pm to 10pm at YSU Stadium Club in Youngstown. Put on your favorite college team jersey or colors and join us in rallying behind NOAS’ vital mission to connect foster youth with caring families who open their homes.

The dynamic duo of Doug, a former OSU player, and Karli Datish will host our memorable gridiron event. You’ll enjoy cocktails and appetizers on the field, savor a buffet dinner prepared by Jeffrey Chrystal Catering, have a chance to win a truck, participate in thrilling auctions, and much more. So mark your calendar, wear your team colors, and get ready to be a part of something special. Get your tickets now and let’s make this a game-winning event for NOAS!

Sweet Bailey Now Has A Forever Family

Bailey spent 1,247 days in foster care, and on September 16th she was adopted.

In Loving Memory of Marie Lewis: A Legacy of Kindness and Service

Marie Lewis passed away on August 25, 2024. She was an active volunteer and board member of the Barbara Lewis Roberts Foundation benefiting NOAS. Marie's commitment to NOAS was evident in her 47 years of service and support to Barbara's mission that there are "no unadoptable children, only families needing to be found."

NOAS is so grateful for Marie's kindness and big heart. Marie never met a stranger and always put others before herself. All of us will miss her smile, kindness, and generous spirit. Marie's dedication to helping others and inspiring others to do the same will never be forgotten. Marie had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel valued and cherished, and her radiant smile and kind spirit will be deeply missed by all.

We are profoundly grateful for the time we had with her, and her memory will live on in the many lives she touched.

Come out for a spooktacular day of fun with The Hub Nutrition and NOAS.

Every youth needs to know they matter, they are not alone and someone cares for them. Foster youth often lack dependable relationships that begin during childhood and continue into adulthood. You can provide the secure, caring, and consistent relationship needed for youth to achieve their greatest potential.

SEPTEMBER IS KINSHIP CARE MONTH

In Ohio, countless grandparents and relatives have opened their homes out of love and commitment, stepping up to support children when their biological parents are unable to do so.

At our foster care agency, our dedicated OHIOKan workers are here to support grandparents and kinship caregivers with essential resources and guidance. Together, we can strengthen families and ensure every child thrives.
