Greetings!
September has its own special rhythm in Sequim. The summer season begins to slow down. Kids are back in school, recreational sites are less crowded, the air is still warm, but there is a crispness hinting that the fall season is on its way. It’s the perfect time to plan a getaway and enjoy our small, friendly town experience. Grab a sweater or jacket, pick up a pumpkin-spiced latte, and enjoy the relaxed pace of late summer in Sunny Sequim.

Dungeness Spit
Imagine yourself on the northern edge of the continental United States, stepping onto the beach at Dungeness Spit. A half-mile hike through a forested trail leads you down to the 5.5-mile spit, the longest in North America. The Spit stretches into the Strait of Juan de Fuca, where you can wave across the waters to our neighbors in Canada. The Dungeness Spit is part of the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge and is home to over 250 species of birds and land mammals. Walk out as far as time allows. A trip to the end will reward you with a visit to the New Dungeness Lighthouse.

Cline Spit
East of Dungeness Spit is Cline Spit County Park. With easy access to the shore, this is a popular launching spot for small boats, windsurfing, and kayaking. Stroll the beach, fish from the shore, or just sit on a driftwood log and enjoy the view of the New Dungeness Lighthouse, ships in the Strait, and spectacular sunsets.

Port Williams Beach
Marlyn Nelson County Park, commonly known as Port Williams Beach on the west side of Sequim Bay, offers a gentle waterfront experience. Bring a picnic and enjoy the view of sailboats gliding on the Bay. Launch your kayak into the quiet waters or just stroll the short beach for a serene moment or two.

Bathe Amongst the Trees
