Lace Up! The 5th Annual Michael J. Pitney Farm Run Returns To Pitney Meadows!

Pitney Meadows Community Farm is excited to welcome back the 5th Annual Michael J. Pitney Farm Run on Saturday, October 4th, 2025! This beloved community tradition kicks off with a 5K at 9:00 a.m., followed by a Youth ½ Mile Fun Run at 10:00 a.m. Runners and families alike are invited to enjoy a morning of fresh air, camaraderie, and celebration of the great outdoors, all while supporting the mission of Pitney Meadows.

More than just a race, this event uplifts the values at the heart of our mission: public access, shared stewardship, and joyful engagement with the land.

Proceeds from the race support our year-round work in sustainable agriculture, food justice, youth education, and wellness.

Corporations and families are invited to sponsor the event and contribute to the continued success of Pitney Meadows Community Farm. This beloved community celebration draws hundreds of runners, walkers, and families to our trails and wide-open fields to honor what we all hold in common—land, connection, and community well-being. Your sponsorship helps keep our trails open, our programs inclusive, and our impact growing.

From competitive runners to families out for a morning adventure, the Michael J. Pitney Farm Run is more than a race—it’s a celebration of community, wellness, and the land we share. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this fall tradition and help sustain a resource that nourishes us all.

Small Engine Repair Workshop with SG!

Curious about what’s really going on under the hood of your snow blower, mower, tiller, or other small gas-powered machines? In this hands-on workshop, we’ll crack open the mystery of 2-stroke and 4-stroke gasoline engines—what makes them tick, what can go wrong, and how to keep them running smoothly. We’ll start with the basics: how these engines work, key components, maintenance tips, and troubleshooting tricks. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and dive in—using tools (provided!) to take apart a 4-stroke engine together, or even work on your own if you bring one (BYO small engine!). No experience required, just curiosity!

Field Trips at Pitney Meadows!

Bring your students to Pitney Meadows Community Farm through our "Growing Minds" Living Classroom Experience with Cornell Cooperative Extension. Our "Growing Minds" program bridges the gap between classroom lessons and real-life experiences on a working farm. This living classroom is designed to enhance environmental and agricultural education for youth, offering a unique, hands-on learning experience. Field trips are designed in partnership with teachers and Cornell Cooperative to connect directly with classroom lessons and students step into an outdoor living classroom where they’ll explore the full farm ecosystem!

TOGETHER, WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Our community's support is what keeps Pitney Meadows growing. Your donations allow us to keep sowing the seeds of community, agriculture, education, and food sovereignty in our region well into the future. Thank you.

HOW ELSE CAN I GET INVOLVED WITH THE FARM?

There are so many ways to get involved! You can volunteer, join a program or event (and invite your friends!), or become a CSA member. Visit the Farm to walk the trails, shop at our Farm Stand, or follow us on social media to stay connected. Another meaningful way to show your support is by sharing the Farm with your friends and community. Every little action makes a big difference!
